Jacky Hosford was born and brought up in London, England, and moved to Canada in 1965 where she went on to study as a florist in Ontario. She then graduated from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology, with a Diploma in Advanced Floral Design. Continuing her studies, she took design courses in both Ontario and Holland. Later on, she came to own and operate two retail flower stores for a span of seventeen years.
As time went on Jacky moved to British Columbia and decided to enter some more classes to develop her creative skills further. She attended night classes and joined a local sketching group as well as some workshops at the Canadian Federation of Artists Gallery. Lastly she attended courses at Emily Carr to learn techniques and develop her love for colour, detail and design within both her sketching and painting. Currently, she serves as an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
